Just simply stunning.
Wish id been able to get to Salute to see it in person, but all you previous work that I've seen, regardless of reason, is stunning. And I loved being able to follow its creation on Twitter.

Re: Erainn Starter Host
Its a tricky one, do you make Starter host's legal forces, or do you just put cool models in so that people can get playing with what they've got. GW Starter boxes, for example, have often mixed the armies up to allow the different aspects of the rules to be played. 'Starter Box' doesn't have to mea...

Quick Starter Rules
Hi,
Just downloaded and had a look at the Quick Starter rules and they look a good 'start'!
One question - there is no mention of fated dice for shooting attacks, only combat ones. Is this an oversight?

Re: Counter Engage
I've been looking in the rules Rob. Bulk Charge (2.4.5.2.6) allow models to make impact strikes against smaller based models if they are Swift Charging (no mention of distance) Combat Modifiers give bonuses and negatives to models who are Swift Charging (6.12.3.1) There are some other instances wher...

Re: Counter Engage
Cheers Rob, So for the bulk charge for counter engage, is it based on the distance separating at the point of engage move? Eg. Guthwulf charges Tarvax unit 16" away. Guthwulf stops 10" away as that's half his swift engage (or does he stop 8" as that's half the swift engage move in thi...

Emerge and Ambush
Hi, how does this actually work. I will admit to paraphrasing in a few places, but hopefully all will make sense (if you'd turned up to games night you could have seen/answered in person... :D ) When you emerge from terrain, you must be no further than 5" from terrain, at least 5" from the...

Counter Engage
Rob, When you counter engage (7.11) you move the charger up to half their engage move or swift engage move, then move the charged unit. Does this allow BOTH units to have bulk charge? In theory the charging unit never moves over their pace which is needed to be a swift engager (as only move half), b...

Re: Wolves, wolves and more wolves
I like the Werwulfs, but think that cost and unit size is an issue. Even with free command the 8 man/wulf minimum makes it a very expensive unit. Think I'd be tempted to not bother with shields and run them cheap. They are one of the few +d10 weapon units in the army, so they do give out that little...

Re: Anglecynn vs Ysians (999 Gold)
Rob, I do have a question, How does Timmy include the Wiglere in the Duguth along with the Thegn? Only commanders can join units and even then can only joins ones in their command. I did wonder if it was as a part of a host command, but Duguth are not Hearthguard, so can't form a host command. Was i...

Re: Anglecynn vs Ysians (999 Gold)
Yes to the original question about C+A. Use that of an unwounded model if the unit has some - otherwise you could be damaging based on a C+A 1 higher than the armour, which might see you mowing down huge swathes of the unit!! Yeah, the Thegn is a noble and then superstar to the unit. if the wiglere ...

Re: Re-engaging
Sort of.
Think I need to put some models on the table and reason it through with a rule book as in my head it still sounds like it could be abused to give extra movement.
Always easier to see things like this in 'action'

Though presumably if they come with one invocation, they don't need to buy one?
E.g. Meloda for the Anglecynn.

Sorcerors with no invocations
Rob, Can models with the Sorceror rule choose not to have any invocations? 1·1·4·4·4 INVOCATION OPTIONS Almost all Sorcerers have invocation options as - if they wish to perform an Invoke action - they must purchase at least one invocation, unless they already have an invocation on their warrior pro...

Re: Muster - Missing/Wrong Elements
Maybe it's worth clarifying that though Rob?
You know it means that, and it makes logical sense for it to mean that, but a line to explain it, or even just replace 'contubernia' with 'unit' makes it easier/clearer for players?

Rob,
Would it be helpful for us to collate issues we've seen here for you? Or is it easier to just let you 'start from scratch' in case we do stuff that's not relevant to your thought process?

Look at the reaction rules when it comes to dealing with fliers. All their engagements are indirect, so (from memory) non wild stuff can perform a withdraw reaction.

Definitely keep this up!
Starting an Anglecynn muster as I love the infantry. Have you tried spears in units bigger than 10? Wondering if you can get even more atacks in. Unlike Rob, I'm not as convinced that the extra attacks is better than the +d10!

2000 gold list
I've played quite a few games with the Khthones, and have always taken a Gorgon general (love rolling all those dice in combat!), but recently he's been found a little lacking in combat - probably bad rolls rather than anything else! Gorgor (R) Staff and bow, Invocations(Crush, bleed) 316 5 gorgorar...
Re: Ravens...
Blimey! That's got some maneuverability. I like it. Had considered doing something similar, especially as the winged stuff looks so good. As the the Ravenhelm question, I'd say it doesn't have the same rules as there is precedent for items having the same name but different rules. Spears on nobles o...

I agree it's not totally clear, but if you follow the wording for the other characters that adjust units, I would say that if you have both, then the first from each should be in his command.
Nothing concrete though!

Primary - Khthones. Picked them a while ago when we started playing and they seemed to be the only kindred that had models and no one else playing them! They've got a different play style with essentially pure Monsterous infantry and as a slow/lazy painter that appeals! Secondary/Tiertiary Kindreds?...

Re: Battle Orders: Units Under a Commander
I'll have to go hunting for the sections, but yeah, when building a host, a commander and his command are on the same orders(plus commanders are assumed to always be on move!) For the second bit, my understanding is that you wouldn't need to activate the commander next, merely that his next activati...
