Atalantes attitudes towards their automata

As I understand it, the Atalantes are very few in number; however, how do they view the value of their automata in comparison to a human life? Are the automata precious technology to be protected at any (reasonable) cost, or is it simply better to send an automaton to the front lines because, if the...

Re: Skirmish at Coffa Tree 11/6/17

Jon, it's there a policy on proxies? I think I can put together a list using the collection I have - although I haven't checked since before gold costs came down - but it'd be nowhere near as interesting as the list I'd like to go with.

Re: My painted collection (Ysians, Khthones, Fomoraic and Infernii)

I really like it. I honestly think ice is one of the most difficult things to make look good at miniature scale (I've never managed to get it right, myself), but the way you've done it, with your choice of base and 'upper' colours and just the right amount of white are spot-on. Good job!

Re: Skirmish at Coffa Tree 11/6/17

Preferably by the list submission date but this event is designed to bring new people in with a limited knowledge to the system and we will have plenty of experienced people there to help if needed :) don't feel you need to quote the book to turn up. Sounds good. You can put me down as a provisiona...

Re: Skirmish at Coffa Tree 11/6/17

Is there a deadline by which you'll need confirmation of attendance? I'm interested, but I want to make sure I'm confident on the rules and have a few games under my belt before I blunder in and inconvenience everyone so I'm just wondering how long I have.

Quite possibly, although likewise I'd have to see closer to the time.

Re: Muster - Missing/Wrong Elements

JediCat, I noticed that "immediately" had been used as a conjunction in a few places in the rulebook and it stuck out to me as odd, but apparently it's valid grammar in British English and I've just never seen anyone other than Rob use it that way.

Re: Tailum's Stuff

He looks great. I think the base is okay, although the snow does look a little 'furry'. What are you using for that? I'd recommend Gale Force 9's snow flock if you're looking for a different product; mix it 50/50-ish with PVA glue, apply it where you want snow, then sprinkle some more flock on top w...

Re: Slam

Going by 6.14.6.1, warriors only get slammed backwards if they took slam damage, which could spill over to multiple warriors if it exceeds their Constitution (Class and Skill permitting). If it doesn't exceed the wounded warrior's Constitution, then only the wounded warrior would be slammed backwards.

Summaries of each Kindred's playstyle

Had a bit of a thought just now. I recall seeing a blog post by someone a while ago which attempted to summarise how each Kindred plays on the table, crunch-wise, and if I remember rightly it wasn't 100% complete. With that in mind I figured: Rob, could you give us a bit of a summary of what, in you...

Re: Thoughts on anglecynn formations

Seconded that this is really interesting. I've not really started playing yet, but my intention has always been to play my Anglecynn as big shieldwalls of human infantry. I've been a bit disheartened recently that all the summaries I've seen of the different kindreds' playstyles have the Anglecynn d...

Re: New Ubiquity Rules- Not Happy!

It's not clear though when I re-read it - I'd assumed to qualify as filling a ubiquity slot it would be effective size+. Then I re-read the Effective Size para and the talk about units being too big kinda threw me a little making me doubt it. That's the part that's confusing me, it implies that a u...

Re: New Ubiquity Rules- Not Happy!

Just to clarify, does a unit fulfilling a minimum ubiquity slot have to be at exactly the effective size, or is the effective size just the minimum number of troops?

Re: What i want for Christmas

And can I have a second version narrated by Timmy where he uses full colloquialisms and actual play terms for the rules. So zappy zappy Magic (ranged damage spells) and running up and twatting (charging) things. There needs to be a limited run of the Tim Edition of the rulebook, and then it needs t...

Your painting is amazing. The use of non-metallic blue as a standard for iron/steel is really interesting to me because I don't think I've ever seen it done before. It's very distinctive and with your painting skill it looks excellent. I also really like the flesh tones on your Ysians, because I thi...

Re: Stu's Occasionally-Finished Minis

It's MIG Extreme Rust Wash; I've never had much success with powders. The wash is tricky to work with - you have to let it dry a little bit before applying it, or it runs absolutely everywhere - but I think the effect is worth it.
