Cadwaladr the Blessed - General question about Muster updates

Hello there, I am a proud owner of Cadwaladr the Blessed, Rhi of Gwynedd, and I noticed that there are no rules for him nor for his dragon mount Llusdial yet in Brythoniaid's muster book. Did I miss something ? Is there an update planned to add them in the future ? About updates, same question goes ...

Re: Rhyfelwr and training level

I'd do the same as Jonathon. Upgrading a unit from trained/drilled to veteran brings way too much benefits in terms of morals and army cohesion to be ignored. A big unit of these dudes shieldwalling will be a pain in the ass for your adversary to remove, and while the cost ramps up it's worth it in ...

Re: Other cocneidr species

If I had to venture a wild guess, I'd say its probably because Cadwallon and Cadwaladr were quite great kings of Gwynedd while Cadfael, while strengthening Cadwallon's alliance with Penda of Mercia against Northumbria, was not exactly remembered as a great man... And this world needs heroes ! Amirit...

Cadwaladr is the successor of Cadafael, he rose in power the same year Penda of Mercia died (eg 655) ^^

Re: Some clarifications needed

About the first question, I'd like to ask for further clarification : Can a noble who is in the host's command (but not the general itself) join another unit in the host's command ? Say, I have a Teyrn as general, and he has an Abad and a Teulu Unit in his host's command. Can the Abad Join the Teulu ?

I would totally pay to see that happen. Would he have a name ?

(Like, randomly, umm... "Penteyrn Cadafael Cadomedd ap Cynfeddw" ? :3 )

Merci !

Je vis dans la pointe sud du 92, et j'attends encore le premier paquet de figs que j'ai commandé. Excellente remarque sur Par-Ys par ailleurs, je plussoie ! (Et Rob aussi apparemment ^^)

Re: 499 list to get started

Thank you ! Yes, for scaling up I thought about getting a Teyrn ; is it worth something to put him on a ceffyldraig ? (Because I find the mini way too beautiful to not use it ^^) The draigllai and the draiggoch are in my expansion list as well ; i'll take time to read and understand the rules (and e...

Re: Ask Me Questions!

Hadn't really thought of the brythoniaid as being all that christian but you're right, as romano-british they very much were christians. And of a very different flavour of christianity to the Irish christianity too. Actually in real-life Welsh, Breton and Irish christianity were quite close to each...

499 list to get started

Hi there fellow Brythons, I took interest in Darklands quite recently, and bought some minis already ; I would like to assemble a small 499g army to get started with ruleset and all. Thanks to narrativity, I have a few constraints, one of them being that my army will hail from Gwynedd, and the secon...

Re: Compel (x) only & General command

So that means that until Brythoniaid gets horsemen, our unlucky mounted Teyrn cannot muster a command  oh well Thanks for all the precisions, it's much clearer now :) One last question if I may ! Ieuan Longshore has the rule Compel (Rhyfelwr, Gairlom). Does that mean that, if I muster him as ...

Re: The Ysians - a compendium

Ys is actually a famous legend of a sunken city in Breton folklore, and closely intertwined into the hagiography of Saint Gwénolé, founder and abbot of Landévennec at the beginning of the 6th century. Long story short, Ker-Ys was a christian city built close to Douarnenez (Bro-kerne in southwestern ...

Re: Compel (x) only & General command

Thanks a lot ! For example, I have a Teyrn who has the rule Compel (Teulu) ; he gets a Ceffyldraig and gains the rule Compel (Teulu Marchog, Marchog) only. Does it mean that : 1/ He cannot compel Teulu but only Teulu Marchog and Marchog ? or 2/ He can only include Teulu Marchog and Marchog in his co...

Compel (x) only & General command

Hello everyone, I am a newcomer to Darklands, hailing from Brittany (but living near Paris) ; being christian, breton and breton-speaker, Brythoniaid was the logical choice for me (also Dragons) ! So while I await the minis and rulebook I bought, I have been fiddling with the muster rules and attemp...

Re: France
