Re: Swooping/diving and grabbing gigantic units.

Sorry when I said up to its own strength (it words it this way in the the rulebook too in fairness but then also uses an example to explain itself) I meant up to but not equal to. So yes the draiggoch can do that to 100mm monsters but not 120mm monsters. To be fair I have less of a problem with the ...

Ah right no worries. Just a case of my sample set being too small in that case. Whats the advantage/point of a devourer that doesn't gain constitution in that case? Doesn't need to worry about carrying objects and gains an exult token I suppose? *shrug*

I thought you had me on that (thought I'd made yet another rules derp) but actually it turns out you're only have right on that Jon. The Valhrafn can't dive grab the meat hulk because it would have to be able to soar again afterwards but it very much can swoop and grab units that are up to its own u...

Swooping/diving and grabbing gigantic units.

So first turn a Valhrafn soars. Second turn it either dive grabs and lands or swoop grabs and lands. Its grab target is a meathulk. Its got four grab and soar attacks and it needs 6s so it may as well use all four. If it hits the meat hulk then poor old Druc needs to take a skill test with a +10 (if...

So I'd best declare my self interest first: I'm currently pouring over the norse list at the moment as the next kindred I start building and painting once I've got a decent amount of ysian models painted. Thanks very much Antoine. I tried to use various different colours of dead/burnt/winter grass to get across the idea that the brutes have corrupted/damaged the flora around them. Not sure how effective that is but the bases at least look a bit multicoloured which is nice I suppose :-) *shrug*

Jonathan Chester has mostly put us all to shame with his efforts. Yeah fair point about the play style of what you face. A similar thing could be said of some ysian builds. If a lot of the stuff you're facing is big smash mouth frenzied units then attacking the chain of command wont have a huge effect - it would mean you've got more chance of going first though ea...

Has anyone had any experience using characters as lone assassins?

So a host doesn't necessarily rely on its chain of command but if you take away an armies generals and commanders then the remaining host starts to become a lot less effective. To this end, I was wondering whether anyone has had any success with actively hunting the chain of command and how they go ...
