Kaastaruk, Skull-bearer of the Tarvax
Well, this morning I submitted this bad boy to the WAMP Darklands 2013 contest, so I can finally share him with you here! This is Kaastaruk, the Skull-Bearer of the Tarvax, and the first model in a while that I've painted just for a contest. For WiP shots, including details on the colors used, you c...

Well, as of now I've finally submitted this guy to the WAMP forums for the Darklands 2013 contest, so I can finally share him on here! He's not been approved yet, but he's posted, so I'm considering that good enough. This is Glaun, the Bull Dragon of Wales. For WiP posts on him, you can check it out...

As always, copied and pasted from my blog . Take a look over there if you want amusing mouseover text, but otherwise the two posts are the same. Also, as a disclaimer, following the "my lesson" link is rated 15+ for blood and violence. (Usually my posts are rated 12+ for some minor alcohol...

Excited about where I was on Aradae Mawr with his skin and silver parts done, I moved on to the minor colors on the model. I decided blue was a decent complement to the purple skintone, so I chose that for the bindings on him. Blues, Layer 1: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-PQuy2vCWonY/UhI07anODb...

Razormage Brythoniaid conversions - Aradae Mawr and Galhwch
So, I loved Roberto Chaudon's Aradae Mawr sculpt so much that I ordered between four and six of them in the hopes that I could field them as a unit. However, using the same model for six guys in a unit is a bit silly looking! Since I had two of the Brythoniaid starters ordered, I took the plunge and...

I'm going to vote for Carrowek on horse, because 1) Nobody has painted one up yet (that we've seen), and 2) we've now seen a glimpse of a painted mounted model (Penda), and it's our job to match it as best we can.

I agree with AndyS. I think it needs at least one layer of the last layer you painted + white, just on the tips, and possibly a second of pure white, as fine as you can make it. But then, I always over highlight. Always, always, always. With NMM, though, I feel it's important to have some of that wh...

Fur's one of the things I have trouble with as well. I used to just drybrush it, as the texture made it very conducive to doing so, but haven't in a while. Sacredroach,
I'm done with the previously mentioned army, and am ready to start painting up Darklands stuff! What would you prefer to play against: Brythoniaid, Fomoriac, or Ysian Drunes? I'd offer Norse but I'm not 100% sure I will have them in time, much less get them painted.
