I'm pretty sure the Wessex concept was for Uhtred. Once you read the books you'll see why he would be wessex.

Her freehand is amazing and she is the master/mistress of nmm. But I'd need to see if she can capture the grit of Darklands. Seb does that but I've not actually seen any of his other work.

Looking great JanSyr. Do you mean yours was inspired by Sorn's. I believe that was by the Mighty Seb. Not Bohun. Not enough random lines and colours for it to be a Bohun!

Here's finished Mjagnir then. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b590/AndySpeirs/giantcollage1_zps9bb69293.jpg And a close up. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b590/AndySpeirs/giantface1_zpsf46c05f3.jpg He is a beast! The biggest model I have ever painted by far.

That will not work for a game in the full rules. You have no mainstay or common units. You'll need some human infantry at least in the next KS.

Cheers Razor! I thought I'd try and make the hair look like he's getting old. So grey at the roots and his younger hair colour at the ends. Dreadlocks contain lots of old hair which is no longer attached to the scalp but with nowhere to go! The hair is still in progress so will change a little.

Glad you're getting on with the stippling Andy. Will Beowa be ready for WAMP? Flesh wise, since I started using a proper brush it's Reaper Tanned flesh I think. With Fair skin also. These both come as a triad. Red glazes are also Reaper (not actual glazes but paint with glaze medium and water). Can'...

Just noticed your brush stand. Doesn't look like you have their brushes on it! Don't blame you! Mine are falling to pieces, the brushes are splitting and the ferule has come off where it was just glued on by about 2mm! And this was my replacement batch!

Re: AndyS Mjagnir WIP
For metal I basecoat the whole area with dark brown. Using an old GW drybrush I 'stipple' everything except the recesses with a dark metal colour (currently whatever the GW replacement for Boltgun metal is called). Then I get VMC oily steel and 'stipple' stlghtly less area with that. Then repeat wit...

I may be wrong but I have always thought that the belly 'plate' was tooled leather. that is certainly how I will do mine. I think the red will look better than the green Bohun has used on Ryans. I think I will go for a dark yellow/buff colour for mine, with dark red leather for the belly 'plate'.

Looking again I would say that the best piece of advice I could give you (and anyone else) is to thin your paint. At least 50/50 with water. Extenders and mediums I'll not mention just yet!

Re: SteamHammer's models
Nice work SteamHammer. I can see some easy ways to improve if you don't mind me saying. Looking at your Beowa it seems that you have only put a metallic base coat on the axe. It needs more interest as it is a large area of flat colour at the moment.

So I've been splashing some paint around again. I changed the green leather patches as I found them too distracting, replaced them with a slightly different brown. Painted the arm and leg wrappings, I actually like what I've done with these for a change! Bones are done too! http://i1293.photobucket....

Making re-usable mold for bases
Hi guys! I am planning on making some molds for base inserts. I figure it will save some time on basing in the long run. I have a few questions. 1) Should I use a 2 part silicone rubber (liguid) a silicone putty or even instant mold? 2) Should I cast in resin or use an epoxy putty? I figure a 1 piec...
