Re: Preparing resin models
Yes Funky, the do not have a black primer to my knowlege. A matte black but not a primer. When using halfords I found that is was a little dusty and easy ro rub off when handling the model. Army painter uniform grey is the grey I would recommend. Can be touched up with the dropper bottle too.

You're in luck Mercedes, next pics up now! I base coated the trolls with Model Air Field Green and U.S. Light Grey on the belly. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b590/AndySpeirs/IMG-20130310-00028_zpsaca9afe6.jpg Then I continued with the standard bearer. Norse infantry will be ships crew. To go with Erik and kjartan. I hope for a unit of hrafnmen as I didn't go for the champion this time round.
Penda's guard will be awesome. MM have hinted as much!

Re: AndyS Trolls WIP
OK, so I couldn't wait to get started with the airbrush once my paints had arrived. So with minimal practice I dived in with something I hoped would be easy. Or at least easy to fix if I messed up! The Troll Vane! http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b590/AndySpeirs/IMG-20130308-00013_zps3f8adabd.jpg...

Re: Preparing resin models
I washed my Trolls in warm water with washing up liquid, using a toothbrush, once they were assembled. This was to avoid getting any greasy fingers on the resin before priming. I dried them with a hair dryer on cool setting and primed them straight after. You can see the effect on my WIP.

I like the black armour and the axe. You need to make the sharp ground down blade different from the main body of the axe blade. Good work though!

AndyS Trolls WIP
So here is my first ever WIP post! The Trolls have been undercoated with Citadel black spray with white over the top. Small bursts at approx 45 degree angle and a little from below. This really brings out the detail! My airbrush set arrived today, now I just have to wait for the paint and get some p...

Re: Airbrush advice
I think I'll invest in some Vallejo model air paints while I'm at it. They seem to have some good greens for my Trolls. I would like to match the cover art as opposed to the painted models. Although they are amazing too of course!
