Put me in the 1500 gold camp. It gives you a game with a reasonable amount of working parts/tactical depth while also giving you a game that you can get through in a decent time frame. In terms of time it’s always what did you spend the gold on. If players go for lots of 30-60mm units it cold slow down a bit but if it’s put into a 120mm monster it speeds up.

My initial advice would to be to play the basic rules (little pamphlet version) for your first game or two to get the base core mechanics down and then with the rulebook I’d advise going through the three levels of rules so you get the layers into your head nicely rathe...

Grizzle is correct. Each general, commander and champion can try to retain which can only be done once an attempt. So you cant retain after already successfully retaining and each model can only do it once. You may only do a forced initiative once per game where two units activate at the same time.

Not got the book to hand but you missed a step out one player (cant remember of the top of my head the qualifier) chooses their flank the opponent only then gets the same option. Hi Geoff,
The white banners are for normal unit banners and the yellow/gold one are for your host banner. I believe you are limited to one host banner but you can have as many banners in your force as you wish to purchase on top of the required mainstay or two influenced units.

While we're here and discussing effects, I can't for the life of me find anything in the current musters that uses corrosion damage... I don't suppose you could point me at something that does? I’m going to assume it’s an attack move whilst on the move order you’re referring to as a unit on attack can never be in shield wall. From memory the answer is no but when I can get to my book I’ll double check with a fuller answer.

It’s also worth noting the khthones Melding Metal spell and other abilities like it to destroy a piece of worne or borne equipment would leave the Gothi unable to cast spells and severely hamper any combat ability it has.
