Re: Lessons learned from KS 2?
The KS is currently at £106,000! And I am sure it will be higher in a few days. I do not agree that it's rushed. Yes, some of the art isn't finished, but I don't want to contribute to a project that is all finished up. What's the point then? Then it'll just be a pre-order system. Here we actually go...

If something gets too tall for what you've planned, you can always just chop them in half and put them into a water-effect, playing with the thought that they are wading through waist-deep water.

Great stuff, but I do agree with that the leather sorta disappears in the colour of the fur. I love the miniatures as solo figures. I don't think they look just as good in human form going into bear-form. There are way too many details that don't "make sense" Some of the clothing is torn t...

What you should do with the right hand is to use a few coats of glazes. That will make the transition between the colours a lot smoother, and will create a very nice blend. If you aren't really knowing how to glaze, it's pretty simple in its technique, but quite hard to master. What you want to do i...

I like the contrasting colours, and I agree that it is actually needed for this paintjob for it not to look dull. It's interesting to follow your steps through the paintjob.

Uhm. I don't know how I missed it earlier, but is that a nasty mold-line that is running down the side of the horn? If it is, then I suggest that you clean it up and repaint that horn. It might not look like a really big deal, but in the end, you'll regret not removing it, as little things like that...

I will most likely get a few Marrow Production figures in their KS. I am not interested at all in the game, but a few figures are really nice. But I am definately going to put most of my cash into MMs DL KS2. I am looking forward to the anaconda and cobra khthones concepts. :p

I think everyone should add the khthones. They are just amazing. And the value right now is really a bargain.
Personally, I can't add anything more right now. I am holding out for the KS2. Which is just as well. Let MM release the KS1 badboys at retail and earn some money out of them for once.

The Tarvax figures look just amazing. Raack* looks great because of the very contrasting colours that really make the miniature stand out. Pir* looks also totally epic and the albino take on it, and it is really interesting despite the limited colours. Top notch stuff for sure.

Looking good. You can always use different colour washes to get a different hue with the red as basecolour. Purple, green, yellow, etc. will all make it look similar, but still different.

Re: Another first wave delivery thread
I usually take these steps. If the first one doesn't work, then I move to the next one, etc.
1.) Hot water
2.) Hot water/cold water
3.) Hot water and carefully "stretching" the material
4.) Hot water and put a splint around it then hot water/cold water

It's hard to say. They are all beautiful and awesome paintjobs. Krull, Blood-maw and Mjagnir are totally epic, and it's not fair to compare those with your smaller figures. But, for me personally, I'd still go with Krull.

The only thing that brings Krull down is the blood-spatter on the axe. I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on that, grefven. I love the way the blood spatter looks. Blood-maw, both sculpt and paintjob. Vortun and Falx-Brute look awesome, too. But I have to say that it's hard to just go with one paintjob over another one. Each one got something that really shines for that figure, so it's very hard to decide. They all take my breath away.

It does got a "realistic" gritty feel to it, but I can't help but think that you need something to make it "pop". It's almost a bit too realistic with the different browns.
