Creator Mierce Miniatures about 1 hour ago

OK a couple more sculptor updates.

Benoit Cosse will also sculpt Belech for us (in addition to Chaagmuth on foot, Cearl and Geraint) and will laso work on a lot of the other concepts from this KS throughout the rest of the year. We're just thrashing out the details now, but basically the Mierce/BN partnership goes from strength to strength so expect a LOT of Benoit sculpts this year :)
We're currently talking about Benoit also sculpting - Vokkinak, Werewulfas (full unit), Beowa (both versions) and a few more. Of course we're awaiting finalisation of some concepts first so bear with us - but it's safe to assume that Benoit (BN) will be working for us a lot this year. This is great news as BN has already sculpted a good portion of our back catalogue so it helps with continuity and he's also a great guy to work with and is very good at his job.
We're quite chuffed at this news as you can tell. :0)

Gref, I've taken the liberty of amending your post with stuff you've surmised and we now know ;o)

Hope you don't mind.

Keep changing. :)

I am not sure if I made a misstake, or if it has been changed, but in Update #5 in the KS, it is said that Thomas David is realizing Ssibyros. Is he still doing it or has it been changed?

We had the sculpt assigned with TD for early-mid 2013. But recently he's/we've had to back out as he's taken on a contract for another company that will see him busy throughout most of the rest of the year. He could still work on Ssibyros but it looks like the sculpt (and add on time for moulding and casting of course!) would miss our Sept shipping date for the Gorgonares starter set by some months and we don't want the shipping date to slip by such a margin.

A shame, but you can't turn down the offer of so much guaranteed work when you're a freelancer. We'll definitly work with TD again, most likely early next year. He's a great guy to work with.

In the meantime I'm chatting to another sculptor about taking on at least 3 pieces and one of them is Ssibyros.

Heh, this sort of thing happens now and again. It's just that normally we don't announce who we have planned to work on sculpts etc - We just unveil them when they're completed.

I won't name the sculptor I'm speaking to at the moment, as until I confirm with him, it's confidential. It won't be Stephane Simon though - His timetable is full at the moment as he's working on LOADS stuff for us - He already has plenty to work on for us before the Sept shipping date for the Gorgonares starter set (including the 3 Gorgonar troopers and these guys take him a long time because of all the scales, they drive him potty! ). And of course I'm getting him as tied up as I can on other stuff for us throughout the rest of the year. Stephane loves working for us and we love working with him!

Sounds like some of the sculptors are enjoying the background as well as the work?

Yes, certainly it's such an evocative back story it's difficult not to! - The style is right up Simon's street as well. He and Danny Cruz are a dream team!

There's a definite feeling that the project is very exciting for people as they are working on a new project from the get go and there's a great will to see it succeed. So many talented artists working on a project also - it's a great collaborative effort!

Great news. :) I only got Grimmin, so definately looking forward to that. But it will also be awesome to see how Hrudinn turns out. :) I am thinking I am toast in KS2. :D

Belech in April ?!? Guess that was an oversight..?
And what about Torkus release date? Is she/he/it still scheduled for Dec? Thought I somewhere read something different...

Stephane has started sculpting Torku already even though it is still scheduled for December (we've seen a WIP)

Image

as a freelance maybe a timeslot he had reserved for something else fell through so he might as well use it for the Mierce job,

if he can get it finished earlier than planned he'll get paid faster (and if he can complete it before December Mierce can get it out with one of the earlier shipping waves)

We swapped Belech out for Beowa to allow us to ship the Beowas with more starter sets.

I think it was listed on the KS store as being for December, and as we haven't seen any WIPs of it yet, I'm guessing that December is still correct. :D
