Shooting / Volley Shooting and near misses

Rob,

When a Unit with the weapon of Shoot and Volley Shoot ability, if they target a Monster that is nestled within a command of enemy Units but is not linked or Bound to the other units, are any wayward arrows that miss the Monster by 1, are they possible hits on the nearby units?

Example; Roll of 6 required to hit, rolls of 5 are near misses, do these hit close by units?

I know there is a rule of hitting friendly units if they are engaged with enemies that are fired upon, and near misses would hit them

Unless that monster is bound to the unit nope near missed are just misses in this situation
