Cover rules
Cover rules
Hello, everyone!
Can anyone explain the next situation, or redirect me to the page of rules:
I've thoroughly read the cover rules and, while most of them are really clear, one situation I still cannot solve - If sighting unit is on the ground (Knutr) and sighted is on an elevated terrain (Crom) so that Knutr can see only upper half of Crom's body and not the legs/base, how will this be ruled? Can Knutr see Crom at all?
By the way, what if Crom is on the elevated terrain and Knutr cannot see him at all physically?

I think you're applying true line of sight here - there is no "true line of sight" in Darklands. Only a sight line, which is traced on the ground. The rules are pretty clear on this, Knútr can see Crom unless he is obscured by another warrior's base that is of equal or higher strength than him.

Again, it depends on the sight line. If the sight line touches his base, he can be seen.

Ok, and what about the cover in this case? Who gets it if gets at all?

Re: Cover rules
Cover? What do you mean?
Crom would get cover if he is partially obscured by another warrior, but that's it, unless terrain is involved.
Cheers

Re: Cover rules
That was the basis of the question =)
In situation as on my terrible drawing, will Crom get the cover from the hill if Knutr had some bow or invocation?

Re: Cover rules
No, Crom wouldn't get any kind of cover there.
Hills don't offer cover unless you're behind them; i.e., not on the hill at all.

Hi, everyone!
I'd like to ask, do I get things right.
Bow Drunes shoot at unit of teulu. 9 of teulu are in cover, one outside. Bow drunes will shoot at one outside without any penalties. They make 10 hits, so every teulu warrior will get one hit. And thus the cover was useless, because one warrior idn't have it?

No mate.
Page 226 - "Shooting at a Mixed Target" - you shoot at the Majority Target first. In this case, the Majority Target is the part of the unit with the highest strength. That means the nine within the wood.

Re: Cover rules
Then, in what case we use:
Shoot at the Easier Majority Target
Even within a group of warriors that have the same SKILL,
some warriors will be easier to hit than others - especially if
some are within concealing terrain and some not!
Thus, when shooting at a Majority Target, always Shoot at the
warriors within the Majority Target that require the lowest
shoot value to Shoot by the Shooting unit, after any shoot
modifiers have been calculated and applied, called the Easier
Target.

Re: Cover rules
so if you had 5 in and 5 out (all at same skill) you have equal majorities so in this instance you shoot the easier one to hit.
Re: Cover rules
OK! Now I see the logic) But in the definition of Majority Target - the part about the differentiation by difficulty to hit is missing( Only skill and strength.
