Order of operations

I was trying to find this in the book, but apparently I'm incapable of finding it, but with what do we apply modifiers to attack, parry, shoot, etc rolls when there's divisions and multiplications involved with basic plus or minus mods?
Divide or multiply as normal first then apply plus or minus mods? Or the other way around?

I'm not 100% I understand the question but when finding out the required value you compare the base stat of the attacker to the appropriate stat of the defender then with that number e.g. 6 apply any positive or negative modifiers.

Hope this has helped :)

Let me give you an example:
Talos is trying to parry some hits from his rear, but he is also entangled. The attacker's might is so low, that the unmodified parry value is 1.
If you apply the Entangled +1 parry penalty first, then the difficult strike penalty, the final parry value is 4 ((1+1)*2=4)
If you apply the difficult penalty first, then the entangled penalty, the final parry value is 3 (1*2+1=3)

Right I understand you now. With your example you apply the entangled +1 parry penalty then the difficult parry penalty. :)

Why though? Can you reference the page where this is mentioned?

Also thank you for your help.

Not off hand as I haven’t got my rule book but I’ll be home about 3 so can have a quick look. I always remember doing that way playing with Rob Lane (before there was even a proper rulebook) but I’ll find the reference for you ASAP :)

As per page 200 under both easy strike and difficult strike ‘...the strike value is calculated normally but is then halved, rounding any fractions down, to a minimum of 1.’

Hope this was helpful :)
