Brythoniaid Heirarchy

Postby Jonathon Chester » Fri Jun 08, 2018 3:43 pm

Cadwaladr is the main king but are there kings of Powys, Ceredigion and the other sub realms other than Gwelod?

What equivalent level is the Teyrn and Uchelwr? are they royalty or more Lords and barons?

Yeah, but very much subkings nowadays - Cadwaladr is the pre-eminent king (Rhi) of the Welsh.

A Teyrn is a sovereign, a subking, etc; an Uchewlr is a nobleman or similar. There's actually so many words for nobleman in Welsh I had a hard time picking that one!

Thanks Rob.

So Cadwaladr if memory serves is the direct King of Gwynned have the sub kings ever been named?

Nope... but they are usually those from history in those kingdoms.

Cheers
