Do Trolls/Hrafnmen/Jotun help with rowing the longships?
If so, do the longship designs differ from historical ones to account for their larger bulk?

Wouldn't the Hrafnmenn just fly alongside the ships or find perches out of the way?
Also, if you look at the cover of the rulebook there is a Jotun of some variety (probably feljotun judging by size) that looks like it's standing up from a lying position in one of the longships.

Granted neither of those answers your questions, and the more I consider it the more I can't help but see a Jotun paddling along while a bunch of holumenn row with their oars.

The bigger things (Trolls, Jötnar) would indeed be transported on ship, but not longships per se, more like transport cogs, and yes, they'd help to row. They're a bit... reluctant to go on water, but the promise of plunder and fighting is more than enough to get them over the sea.

James, the Jötunn you see on the Darklands cover has dismounted and is walking in the sea for the last few hundred yards where he is about to brain some unlucky Angle. By the way, the cover represents Skegness beach ;o)

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but what sort of level of intelligence and dexterity do the jotnar and trolls have? Cause I cannot for the life of me imagine a feljotun rowing a boat... those oars would be more like back-scratchers for them.

Well, they're intelligent enough - think wild hill man... they're wild, not stupid.

As for dexterity, they can make and wield weapons well enough - why couldn't they hold and use giant oars?

Oh I don't doubt they could use troll/Jotun sized oars, and I suppose if they're in transport vessels rather than the longships then I would imagine those vessels would be sized appropriately for the creatures they're transporting, oars and all.

Skegness is so bracing.

Especially in winter. I always preferred Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea to be honest, Skegness was always full of... people...
