Starting player needs help with Musters

Postby Carnus » Thu Apr 24, 2014 2:21 am

Hi guys I just backed the latest kickstarted and am excited to get into this amazing game.
I have read through the quick start and muster rules but I am not sure if I am getting it exactly.

I am thinking of getting the following minis from the kickstarter and would appreciate some help in how I could use them in a 499 gp army and a 750gp army or other mini recommendations.

I plan on getting the following.

Penda
Werwulf Thegn
10x Gesith with champion, herald and banner
Freawulf pack
X5 Werwulf with champion, herald and banner
Timoth
Magenwulf
Guthwulf

These were selected mainly because I like the mini's or concept art or they came in a bundle.

If anyone could give me an idea of 499 and 750 gp army out of these or recommend other purchases it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Any advice or suggestions at all on putting together an Angelcynn force?

Hi Carnus

Moved this here as it's not really a rules discussion, is more about tactics and building your host.

Any takers want to help Carnus?

499 host:

Timoth as a Forthegn with a Warhammer + Guthelm and Gtuhbyrne
6 Gesith including command
1 Guthwulf

That adds up to 499 exactly

for 749

Thegn with Warhammer and Guthelm and Guthbyrne
10 Gesith and command

Werwulf Thegn
3 werwulfas
1 Guthwulf

Comes to 744

Hi and thanks for the response and the example, I think you have helped me in understanding how having a host general and other commanders.

So the 499gp host
All three units members are Rare Ubiquity, is that because at lower post costs you can ignore the Ubiquity? I think I saw something like that mentioned on one of the youtube play videos.

In the 749 gp host
The Thegn, Gesith and Guthwulf are all rare and at a skirmish game you are only allowed 2 rare's?

Am I correct in this or am I misunderstanding the muster rules?

Hey Carnus,

The normal Thegn is Uncommon, so you should be good ( I think) ;)

As for the 499 host. I don't think you have to use the ubiquity yet, as there isn't a lot out there yet in the way of mainstay / common units. You could however use a Thegn, use the Gesith as Duguth for now and / or use a unit of werwulfas as both the thegn and the wulfas themselves are uncommon.
