Working with Fine Chain

Postby Dan Pratt » Sun Jul 24, 2016 3:50 am

I've never worked with the type of fine chain that comes with models such as Erebius on Behema. From the WIP photos of this model, it looks like the chains threaded through the skulls are frozen in more of a dynamic swing/jiggle.

Do you coat the chain in an adhesive (maybe PVA?), position it while it drys, then paint it? Or do you simply use the natural chain as is, leaving it to swing and sit where it pleases?

I tend to just let it dangle, I find they usually give you "plastic" chain for the ones that are meant to be in a specific position, my only experience is the chain from Krull's axe which looks natural hanging from the contact points.

I put the chain in place then add superglue to it.
