Breffs WIP

Postby beefknee » Sun Jun 02, 2013 8:14 am

Here are a couple of pics of Glaun. I have still a fair bit to go, the feathers are only based, needs highlights and shadows. Skin is nearly done, needs more contrast between the highlights and shadows.

 That's a really cool paint-job you've got going on that bulldragon there. Looks awesome.

Got more work on his skin and especially his face. Added more texture, more contrast in the mid tone and highlights. Painted his mouth and tested colours on his horns

Hi,

I really like the way you are painting the skin.

I think could be great if you try to create more contrast between the shadows and the lights zones. That will make your work more amaizing.

I'm expecting new advances!!!

Keep painting!

Bye!

Finished up these two brutes, great to paint! Photos are a bit crap, took them with my phone.

Muldo spikes are really cool, dark and fearsome. Great skin tones and metal rocks!

Started Nung, photos are a bit crap, took them with my phone. The flesh is pretty much done, I'll add a bit if red/purple around the outgrowths. The axehead needs a bit more work. Then onto the metals.

Looks good Breff. What undercoat have you used there?

Cheers Andy. It's over spray from basing the flesh with an airbrush. I think it's medium flesh from Vallejo. I primed black then sprayed grey from above for the zenithal lighting. Lots of flesh tones as glazes with dark blue added for the deepest shadows.

Do you use the 2k undercoat for everything? I'm struggling with it on standard 30mm troops!

Ye I use it in pretty much everything. Works really well on bigger and fatter minis. Some of the smaller ones are kinda hard to get a good result. Do you use spray cans or an airbrush? I find the airbrush gives much better results, smoother, finer spots and smoother transitions. I still over do it sometimes and have to start over.

Spray can at the moment. May try airbrush, but my cheap one is a bit spotty anyway! I'm looking to get some better one.
