Well my Tarvrax Herd is now all cleaned up, assembled, greenstuff-ed and based thanks to a very warm and pleasant Sunday

I plan to 'grass' the bases, but like to paint them first so you don't see through the static grass to a uniform surface colour, this way helps it look a bit more natural

Looking good, making me wish I'd had money "on the day" to get some... Hafta save some dollars in the future and get some. Plans for painting?

Painting wise I'm hoping to do at least some as highland cattle

however my attempts to mix an appropriate colour have not worked out so for, but I've got an order in for the Reaper Red Hair paint triad which looks as if it will do the job more easily than what I've got

I'll probably go looking at other cattle breeds for inspiration too (as opposed to painting them as 'minotaurs' with human skin and cow heads), although I think many of the 'patterned' breeds may not work as there is too much armour/clothing

Have you tried the Reaper colour match feature on their website? I haven't looked at it in a while, but I was messing around with in the last 12 months.

To be honest, those are red cattle, I suspect the Red Hair triad is exactly what he's looking for.

Red leather and cavalry brown from Vallejo would work as well.
