I have prepared some "real" WIP pics to show you how I create my conversions. First of all: I have a picture in mind of what I would like to create. Sometimes I scribble my ideas but I do not do this very detailed. I am testing during modelling what I like the most - so I am sometimes surprised about my own results.
Starting with the head and adding the six extra eyes - then doing the base of the hair, pincers and horns for the general head shape:

Finish the hair, recreate the cut off arm and modelling the abdomen (nothing special, only very time-consuming):

Finding the right body pose and modelling the fingers:

Modelling ONE leg and casting the rest. Mounting the abdomen to the pillar to have all the freedom to find the right position of the legs - no single leg is a necessary element for stability of the mini:
