Hi all,

so, this is my WIP the third - time for the Jutes. OK, maybe not because it is only a Spider Lady made from Euryalia (my fourth conversion of this lovely lady) and Gol Gul. Plus some parts from GW - sorry for that. After I created the three gorgon sisters from Euryalia, I had some cut off legs from her. So I HAD to make this interpretation of "Arachne" or "Lolth". She is my personal favourite of my conversions so far - what do you think?

I have prepared some "real" WIP pics to show you how I create my conversions. First of all: I have a picture in mind of what I would like to create. Sometimes I scribble my ideas but I do not do this very detailed. I am testing during modelling what I like the most - so I am sometimes surprised about my own results.

Starting with the head and adding the six extra eyes - then doing the base of the hair, pincers and horns for the general head shape:

Finish the hair, recreate the cut off arm and modelling the abdomen (nothing special, only very time-consuming):

Finding the right body pose and modelling the fingers:

Modelling ONE leg and casting the rest. Mounting the abdomen to the pillar to have all the freedom to find the right position of the legs - no single leg is a necessary element for stability of the mini:

Sheesh, this is phenomenal. I would not want to encounter THAT on the field!!

Would love to see some of your original stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if you got onto Robs list of sculptors with this quality.

Looks amazing! And great 'in progress' shots as well. I love the concept for the figure, it works well with the whole darklands aesthetic.
