JerzyK's minis
JerzyK's minis
Hello,
My first (and not last!) figures from MM:
Aanchuth the Cursed - Warlock of the Gabrax
Daachuch the Broken - Skull Bearer of the Gabrax
This is beginning of my Fomoraic army, which will grow after April when I het my Tarvax starter
Some more figures will soon appear here, this time something bigger...

Stunning paint jobs!
Hope to see a whole warband of these painted to that standard!

Yeah, these guys are awesome! I've seen the darker guy on CMON, and really like it.

Yup, I love these (saw Aanchuth on CMoN).
I really like what you did with the bases as well. How did you make those?

Re: JerzyK's Fomoraic
The bases are standard MM bases. The ground is made of wine cork. The grass is made of linen string (any other natural fiber would be fine) .

Hey I like the idea of using wine cork for basing.
First open bottle and empty.....well no painting tonight, better get some more wine cork for basing

I love the bright pastel look that you have. Miniatures painted in this painting style always grab my attention far above those that have the "real" look to them. Very Impressive work.

These models are also painted quite realistically, despite the use of a strong pastel colourscheme. Imagine these guys on an open field under a really strong full moon. The light would have a similar effect at that point. Really cold, blue-shifted light which would turn most colours in pastels of themselves.

Re: JerzyK's minis
I am back after a while Time to paint more minis from KS1 before the ones from KS2 arrive. First Ysian Ax Drune (1 of 5 man unit) - a test model for (future) whole army. For the others I will have to paint NMM armor with more contrast...

Re: JerzyK's minis
Love the blue tint you've got in the NMM. If you don't mind me asking, what shades did you use for it?
Re: JerzyK's minis
Love it.
Re: JerzyK's minis
Thanks.
@ razormage - the base color for armor is Rackham Color Wizard blue with a touch of black. From then I am only adding black (for shades) or white (for highlights) to the mix.

Looks good. What did you use for the dark red patches on the cloak?
As I always say. At the end of the day.................it goes dark

It's Rackham Beastly Flesh with a touch of P3 Trollblood Highlight.

Great stuff folk! Love the mushrooms...
Re: JerzyK's minis
Well, it's not figure from MM range, but it fits my Drunes force quite well, so I'll show it anyway It's The Howling Horde Warchief from Norsgard Miniatures.
The next one will be another Ax Drune, I promise

She's 37mm tall, so she is rather hero size

As far as I remember it's mix of Rackham Color Mutant flesh, P3 Meredius Blue and white
KS 2.5 is over and so is another of my minis - Kernuor, seer-drune
My drune force is nicely gaining strenght

Thanks. Perhaps I paint even too clean It's just a matter of practise.
Here comes another drune - Hedroc of Carn Maen:
I think that he is too small (a little smaller than standard ax-drunes) - he does not look very much like a warchief...

Re: JerzyK's minis
Awesome stuff. I really like your style. It's got a Confrontation-vibe to it, and that is high praise indeed!
Re: JerzyK's minis
Really like your stuff, particularly the skin, it has a nice cool feel, slightly "putrid" bordering on "undead" but still looks like the skin of living people. What paints are you using for the skin? Whenever I do skin, I have a difficult time keeping it from being too "yellow-orange" or just looking undead.

The base color is Citadel Dwarf Flesh + a little bit of Rackham Wizard Blue (any light blue will do). The skin tones straight out of bottle are just too orange for me.
A little drune update - first of Jowan's doggies. What do you think about him? Does he look scarry enough?
Please excuse my poor paintjob, but I didn't want to spend too much time on him - definitely he's not the main unit for my army. And there are 3 of them! Maybe I did not hava a good idea how to paint him - I just can't paint animals...

Re: JerzyK's minis
That is a really nice paintjob !!!
Re: JerzyK's minis
I don't think that colour scheme works at all, unless you tone down the purple way-way much. It now looks more high-fantasy than dark-fantasy. Here is an inspiration picture http://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics12/img46f95bed96a13.jpg
Re: JerzyK's minis
The doggies are finished. I painted the other 2 just as the first one. I wanted all those wound/scars to be visible. I don't thin they're too bright.
Now they only need their master to guide them whom to bite

Beautiful work buddy. I am not a fan of the Ysians but your paintjobs make them oh so much more appealing!
Re: JerzyK's minis
I liked painting dogs so much, that I decided to paint a bear after thet So here is Beowa, painted my way:
I hope that you will forgive me putting him on 40mm base - I think 60mm is too much for him

Now when the Forum is alive again, maybe I will be more motivated to focus more on painting Darklands models instead of Confrontation ones
