Hi Grant, as I said in the KS, if you just really thin a couple of colours, I like purple and green, to a glaze, whereas there is hardly any colour visible and add these colours to your metals, it will create a really nice hue that breaks up the silver. You can use glazes on anything, and you are at a level with your painting now that I believe you would benefit greatly from.
If you check out the best of the best, like on putty & paint or CMON, and closely study the submissions, you will see all manor of subtle colours used.
I'm trying purple when I paint flesh now. When I get the chance I'll add some pictures.
