Starting over Terrain build

Postby Garben » Thu Feb 24, 2022 9:27 am

Over the years I have built boards based on 2x4 or 2x2 MDF with the terrain modelled on the boards but recently have had to look at reducing the space my hobby takes up. The plan is to build a 6x4 table that can be folded for storage and will need all new terrain pieces building.

Made a start with some buildings for Darklands

Looking great Graham!

I love stuff like this, it just creates a lovely atmosphere when you're playing. Awesome.

That's some solid work. I've never been great at scenery so I always love seeing stuff like this.

Been a while since my last post, been a little hectic with work and finishing off other projects instead of leaving them half done. Starting to make some barrows for my With army to lurk round

Just a bit of foam board at the minute

finished off all 11 pieces at the weekend, some pics of the finished pieces with a poorly painted Gast for reference
3 x Woods/Forest terrain https://www.instagram.com/p/ClO1l5GrcTj/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
3 x Barrows/Hills https://www.instagram.com/p/ClO1UGWLUgr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
2 x Hills with statues - used Dwarf statues based on germanic folklore with Dwarfs having a connection to death and guardians of portals https://www.instagram.com/p/ClO1UGWLUgr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
1 x Ritual site, the standing stones have saxon runes on 6 refering to the battle hour and two of the stones read Dawn and Dusk, each has an indent in the top for a small stone marker to work as a turn and time of day counter https://www.instagram.com/p/ClO1dmDrA_R/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Lastly a couple of fields to go with the saxon style buildings done a while ago https://www.instagram.com/p/ClO1LSgryRm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Next pieces will be 2 large ruins that can be used individually or together to for a larger ruin along with smaller tumbledown ruin pieces, probably once i paint a few more of the pile of darklands miniatures that have been building up
