I was thinking of glueing 30mm MDF hex bases on a piece cereal cardboard and then cutting the excess cardboard off with scissors. Though because my bases are magnetised, pieces of metal would be preferrable.
Also I like the triangular movement trays used in Mortal Gods, but they don't sell the MDF ones separately, just the more expensive resin ones.
