Mierce Miniatures

Good afternoon All

I would like to post the attached and see what you guys think about it. Myself and 2 friends who are on the forums (James and Hugh) got together and recorded a test podcast.
I will preface this by saying it is WAY longer than I intended (just short of 3 hours), it my first attempt recording and editing,everything was done on an iphone and we are fairly new to Mierce and Darklands.

Currently I have it saved as a youtube video (audio only) and I have it marked as you need a link to find it.

If anyone wants to give it a listen please do so, I look forward to any and all feedback.

Hi all
We will be recording again some day this week so the next one should be up early next week. I have a few questions for those who have listened.
The first is we referred to the first episode as 'episode zero' so the second recorded episode became 'episode 1'. Do you feel we should renumber them to 1,2,3 etc?
Also I put very little in the description, I was considering putting links to the various miniatures we are talking about, good idea or no?

Another upcoming episode, that's some good news. I really enjoy listening to you guys.

I can imagine that it's easier to renumber them.

I think it's a good idea to put links of the miniatures in the description. That way people new to Darklands can search for the models that you guys are talking about.

Great episode guys. I started in on assembling some trolls while having a listen.

Nice episode indeed, thanks. Interesting points on the Gebúr. I I just ordered 15 maiobanagh to play them as gebúr, and what you said is conforting me in my choice. In the list, though, didn't you forgot to pay for the daggers, which are "purchased with " the slings ?

Yeah I've just checked, and you're right. I missed the obligatory purchase of the daggers and so I was several points over. I'd also managed to cheat on the challenge by forgetting to actually base the 999 list on a proper starter host so its safe to say that I failed pretty hard on that particular task. Oops.

Finally got around to listening guys and it is a must listen for me. Its great to hear the enthusiasm from the three of you whilst still all having differentiating opinion on certain things leading to indepth discussion. Cracking work!

I would just like to say thanks to all of those who have listened to the podcast, we are about to hit the 1 year anniversary over the weekend, and although the listenership isn't exactly massive it does warm my heart that people wish to listen to the 3 of us ramble

Many thanks, guys. A little suggestion: would be very interesting to have a sort of game analysis, maybe based on a short battle report posted on the forum, and a discussion on who did what and what for, and were there tactical mistakes and what were the good moves, etc...

I'll admit guys, I haven't listened to any of these, They all sound really interesting, but I'm very much a Visuals person so I couldn't sit through 90 / 120 minutes of just talking without having any visuals to relate to..

Any plans to have visuals on future sessions?

Currently we don't have plans for visuals, the plan was to mainly to do a podcast, which is now available on iTunes.

Nobody wants to see them three on a regular basis!

New to Darklands and have been listening to your podcast and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far! Still got a few episodes to tie me over, but hoping you’ll be producing more!

Yes we will be making more. We haven’t released a new episode in a while. This is because
A- the most recent one we recorded ended up being an editing hack job
B- medical reasons
C- a new version of the rules is in the works so we didn’t want to talk about stuff that might be obsolete a month later.

As soon as the new rules come out we will be back

thanks everyone for their continued listenership of the compel and influence podcast.

Please be aware that I will be removing the podcasts from the YouTube channel and having them only on the audio podcast/iTunes/sound cloud. This is because as its an audio only format it seems silly having people stare at the tape deck.

Could I ask if anyone has the time to rate/review the podcast?

Honest review, I tried to listen to the previous one you guys did, got through about 25 minutes then switched off, no reflection on your delivery or content at all, but I'm very much a visual person and I like to see the things that people are talking about otherwise I find it hard to relate and end up losing interest... sorry..

Just my opinion of course, and I'm sure i'm in the minority..

Sorry its not to your liking, but the intention has always been a podcast, sadly I don't really have the equipment, space or technical know how to make darklands related videos.

If however things change down the line it is something I might consider
