Andy P WIPs

Postby AndyP » Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:24 pm

So I've finally managed to make a start on some pieces. Mainly my trolls. Not much done, just a base coat of VMA Cam. Green with a VMA Light Grey belly, under arm and back of the legs. One of them I used a mix of VMA Cam. Green and VMA Dark Earth for the body and added more dark earth for the belly colour as an experiment in variations for skin tones. The cleavers are basecoated with VMA Steel. I have to say that all I had heard about the quality of VMA metallics is spot on. They are great.

I have also prepped a few of the newly released minis with the intention of getting one done to enter in the Wamp painting competition. I'm going to see which one of these you guys think I should get done. I will only have time for one of these, but two of the options are pairs. Let me know on here which you want to see entered.
Beowa - both forms,
Carrowek on horse,
Geraint Nerthol.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may notice that I have attached Geraint's sword arm differently to the intended sculpt. I think it looks better this way. Look forward to seeing what you all vote for. You have 3 days ;-)

Looking good Andy. And rather familiar! ;-)

Paint Beowa, as I don't have time and I want to see one!

Your Trolls are now the template for all that follow. You are the leader of the pack. ;-)

I'm going to vote for Carrowek on horse, because 1) Nobody has painted one up yet (that we've seen), and 2) we've now seen a glimpse of a painted mounted model (Penda), and it's our job to match it as best we can.

For anyone that hasn't seen, Beowa won the vote and is completed and entered. Pics of him are also in the finished models section of this forum. Next up I'm tackling some Tarvax

The bottom one looks like he's made of chocolate :)

Good luck in the comp, Beowa is looking good in both forms!

Yeah he does a bit. Should look better once the highlights and shading go on. Hopefully.

You have a bunch of work here but a really like what you have showed to us.

The trolls and the minotaurs looks pretty awesome, even they ar not finished.

Are you going to use Mierce bases or are you going to use for them a wood base?

Many thanks.

Keep painting.

Bye.

The black minotaur is very good, its a colour I find difficult to paint for skin especially, you have done a great job.
