Dyndraig ubiquity question

Postby hdma » Mon Apr 11, 2016 6:09 am

Hi all,

if i have a PRIFDYNDRAIG that change the uniquity of DYNDRAIG to Mainstay and my realm is Gwaelod the uniquity of Dyndraig unit become Mainstay (2)?

I think this will be more useful with bigger host size to fulfill the mainstay Requirment.

Thanks

H.

No, the PrifDyndraig rule makes them Mainstay (1)

Is there anywhere in the muster rules where it says that ex common (2) becomes just mainstay, not mainstay (2). I dont doubt that this is correct, but it would help a lot to get a referance from the rules. And it would help my list building a lot if common 2 becomes mainstay 2, he he.

I am unsure if it is in the rulebook but if a character says it changes the ubiquity from X to Y then the ubiquity is Y as written. With your example if you were using a Gwynedd host a prifdyndraig commander changes the Dyndraig from uncommon to common. If he is the general he still makes them mainstay.

Eh? What?

Sorry, what was the question... I can't work out what you're asking me! (I may just be being dense).

Cheers

They're Common (2) in a Gwaelod list, people are trying to see if they will become Mainstay (2) because of that ;)

Are you going to mull that one over, Rob?

The same applies to Warriors of Baalor.

So basically something that is intended to make them less common but when flipped to mainstay makes them actually more common... Doesn't make any sense.

It's a realm where Dyndraigs are the central units, and more common...
Would it make more sense to you to have a Gwynned list with the same set-up to have 1 more Mainstay Dyndraig unit than a host where they actually make more sense?

Because the general would bring all his forces under his command as could be a force that lives in a different area so is Gwynedd rather than gwaelod.
