Run and Shoot action

Question;

Can you perform a Run and Shoot action, but where you run half your distance, so your Pace, then Shoot, then Run the rest of your Pace.

So Pace 5

Run 5 inches, Shoot, run remaining 5 Inches?

I'm pretty certain you can't break a move action.

I'd suggest a pretty hefty penalty on the roll (say plus 2, rather than plus 1) to represent shooting 'on the move' if you were to add it.

That’s what the current modifier is for really as you’re not taking careful aim

Run 5 inches forward, shoot, run 5 inches to left, right...backwards etc...

Because you can change direction after youv'e shot...

Charging implies that you are charging at the enemy, they would be easier to hit as you are running directly at them.

Running, shooting then changing direction would need more skill involved I would say..

My thoughts, too.

Further, though, I envisage a shoot and charge action as shoot THEN charge. This would unequivocally be shooting while moving.

I’d argue not as in your example you run into position, take a shot then move on where as with charging you’re still going at full pelt.

Just because you’re running at your target doesn’t necessarily mean an increase in accuracy.

In rules context a charge and shoot occurs at the half way point between the two units it’s not from where you start. Thus either you make the new rule match or make the old one match.

Then if we are to have the new rule then it should match the Charge and Shoot Rule for Modifier penalty, the only difference between the two is that with Charging you continue after shooting in the same direction, and gain Charge Modifiers to combat, whereas with Run and Shoot you have the option to change direction after you have shot to finish your run move or indirectly engage in combat without any modifiers..

Would be an interesting addition to the rules for engaging Frenzied units when you are on Attack or Move Orders.

It would be split into Walk and Shoot or Run and Shoot; so it would be +1 and +2 to the shoot value.

Walk and Shoot means you can move 2", shoot, move 3", Run and Shoot move 6", shoot, move 4" (both for a PACE 5 warrior).
