Mierce Miniatures

So, September seems sooo far away... I'm occupying my time by scouring the internet for colorful and interesting scale patterns...

Then I thought, "Hmm, why not share?"... so here's alittle inspiration for what your Khthones could look like... I tend to favor Vipers, but feel free to add whatever scaly goodness you like...

... and don't forget to give your 2 cents.

GREENS:

Cool snakes, and indeed suited to the Gorgonares.
I've also been looking at snakes for the scales on my Dyndraigs.


I picked this one for the bright oranges, with reds and purples to go with it. Gives a nice "hot" impression.

What the hell is that last one? It looks like it was caught in an explosion in a glow stick factory.

I'm guessing Mierce wouldn't want a similar thread for Melusines

That last one is an African Red Phase Bush Viper, according to TinEye and Google. They're pretty rare.
The saturation on the colours in the picture is a good deal higher than in real life though, it's not as bright normally.
Someone touched up this photo to make it pop, the real version is still a gorgeous red and orange though.

And a Melusines reference picture thread is most certainly off-limits.

certainly striking Grefven, black and yellow always pops.

Shame that the snake isn't actually those colours, I think it'd be the ultimate pet for Cybergoths everywhere. I think yellow/black is how I'm painting my mates Gorgonares if he can't get over his ophidiophobia to paint them himself.

yeah, if bush vipers really looked like that, i would have gone out and bought one yesterday. it's some nice touch up work though.

Yes, I can see people going buts with colour schemes on the Gorgonars - mother nature has so much inspiration to choose from.

Vilthiss and co are based on a viper in the concept.
