Weapon coatings for warmachines

Could warmachines such as the ballista or megakontabolos be given shot weapon coatings,
Such as brimstone for byzantii or lava fire for the khthones ?

I'm going to say yes, I think so, but I will be restricting some weapon coatings to 1 or 2 units (probably the more esoteric ones) so watch out for those changes in the musters.
