Darklands: Second Edition - Official Addenda v2.05

Postby Rob Lane » Tue Apr 04, 2023 3:35 pm

Everyone,
This page will list all of the official addenda for the Darklands: Second Edition rule book, version 2.05.

Each addendum will eventually be provided upon a PDF document that can be printed out, with each paragraph(s) having a separate entry so that they can be cut out and stuck in to the rule book.

Each quote below will add to the rules in the rule book.

Cheers
Rob

Thanks to Dayle's über-wulf host:

POSITIONING A COMMAND

After the ‘Flanking and Scouting Units’ paragraph, before 3·6·2·2·1: Restrictions:

Units that Cannot be Positioned
It can sometimes happen that all of a command's units cannot physically fit within a positioning ground (or flanking or scouting ground) on the battlefield. If this occurs, units from that command that cannot be positioned before the battle (now called Unpositionable units) must enter the battlefield from any edge that touches the host's positioning ground in their activation. An Unpositionable unit that enters the battlefield in this way measures its warriors' Movement from the edge itself rather than placing warriors on the battlefield and then Moving them.

Unpositionable Flank units may enter the battlefield from the edge of any of the host's positioning grounds or flanking grounds. Unpositionable Scout units may enter the battlefield from the edge of any of the host's positioning grounds, flanking grounds or scouting grounds.

If an Unpositionable unit contains the general, a replacement general must be chosen until the general enters the battlefield.

Jimbo came up with this regarding frenzied attack dice:

Page 76:

ATTACK DICE

Frenzied Attack Dice

After the first sentence:

Some artefacts or invocation effects may add extra frenzied attack dice to a Frenzied warrior, and these will always be applied his primary combat weapon. If a Frenzied warrior has more than one primary combat weapon, any extra frenzied attack dice should be spread amongst his primary combat weapons equally, with the remainder being placed upon any of the Frenzied warrior's primary combat weapons the player wishes.

EXAMPLE
An Ysian Chimaera gains an extra three frenzied attack dice thanks to a brand artefact mustered for it. The Chimaera already has one frenzied attack dice on its profile - for the Lion Bite combat weapon - so a frenzied attack dice must be placed on its other primary combat weapons, the Wyrm Bite and the Goat Horn Butt, first. The remaining frenzied attack dice can be placed on any of its three primary combat weapons.

For the forthcoming Far Thule bolas...

ENTANGLE

A shot weapon that has the rule ‘entangle’ - an entangle shot weapon, used by an Entangling Shooting warrior - may be used to entangle enemy warriors. A Target warrior that suffers at least one fated shot die or at least one shot die by the entangle shot weapon - now also called the Entangled Shot warrior - immediately becomes entangled, as long as that Target warrior's mass is equal to or lower than the Entangling Shooting warrior's mass.
Multiple warriors bearing entangle shot weapons that combine their shots may combine their mass to entangle enemy warriors of higher mass.

Cheers
