Goading questions

Postby Dayle12 » Tue May 09, 2023 1:10 pm

Few questions on goading

1. Is there a vigor requirement for the goaded unit, or can you perform goads on units that are lively, alert or weary?

2. When using the charge goad action, does the goaded unit count as performing a charge action, so would get modifiers/charge bonuses and linked attack action,

3. If a unit is weary and has the charge goad used on it will it get the linked attack action (including weary modifiers)

The Goaded unit is Bound to the Goading unit, so their vigour is one and the same. As you can only activate (and therefore Goad with) a unit that's lively, it's a bit of a red herring.

Well, you choose the Direct engagement, so if you choose a Charge, they get the modifiers and then the resulting Attack action etc.

As above - a Goaded unit is part of a Bound unit, the leader of which is the Goading unit; so if that unit is weary it can't activate to perform the Charge Goad.

Okay so can you perform a goad if your alert and lively?
So say the unit performs a run action,
You can still goad after performing that action ?

Okay so what if a goading unit performs a goad on a friendly monster that has already been activated and weary?
As goaders dont have to be bound to a monster unit to goad them?

Yes.

Yes, as Goad is a command action, see p150 and the ACTION SEQUENCE. The question is whether I want that to happen...

Goaders should be Bound to a unit to be able to Goad them. That may be a glaring omission...
