What are the ways of adding images to a thread?
Seen lots of threads now with images in and amongst the text but I cannot see on the Forum how to do it.

Sign up to imgbb - it's free
upload your pics and then choose the desired code - you can select a text link, a thumbnail link, or a full image (under the BB code menu).
If you have any image editing software (I'm sure there will be a free one out there), try to resize your images first so they are not massive first - you don't want ppl to suffer heavy download times.
1352 pixels wide @ 72dpi as a .jpg should be maximum IMO. If you have Photoshop (or the crappy but cheap and effective enough at least for images Photoshop Elements) you should also SAVE FOR WEB or EXPORT TO WEB (legacy) and reduce the file size that way (without further reducing the actual dimensions of the image).
