So here they are, the November releases for Darklands from us here at Mierce Miniatures - and what releases, dark age fantasy fans! For the ever-willing Fomoraic there is the obvious follow-up to the Srónax champion Órorqaan, namely his unit's standard-bearer, Qqolaan; for the unpronouncables of the Brythoniaid there is the Dyndraig trooper Gwyddol, who comprises a part of the Pendyndraig Galhwch's unit; for the serpenty Khthones we have Issithill, a Gorgonar standard-bearer who answers to Vilthiss, his unit champion; and finally we have the frankly awesome Carrowek of Carn Dhu, an Ysian War-Drune of quite healthy proportions who will lead your armies to death, destruction or victory, and quite possibly all three. Don't say we didn't warn you!{split}
Gwyddol, Dyndraig of Gwaelod
Gwyddol is the first of our Dyndraig troopers, of which there are two more and a standard-bearer to come which, for the numerate among you, makes a unit of five with their Pendyndraig, Galhwch Lladd Llaw. Drawn up by the amazing Christophe Madura and sculpted by the awesomely quick Roberto Chaudon, Gwyddol (pronounced Gwy-thol, the 'th' being pronounced as in 'this' rather than 'thin') with bring more nasty fiery death to your Saeson enemies, and who cares if they're actually Anglian, my Welsh friends!
Qqolaan, Skull-Bearer of the Srónax
Qqolaan, again, is another unit member, this time a Srónax who pledges allegiance to the Fomoraic and the Fíorfomor Baalor, just like his Gultain Órorqaan (who was released last month). The Srónax are a great opportunity to get some really heavy, really hairy muscle in the armies of Baalor and there are three more to come over the next few months - all drawn up by Georges Clarenko and sculpted by the amazing but rather bearded Allan Carrasco. Just don't pull their ears. The Srónax, that is...
Issithill, Agitator of Khthon
This month seems to be a month for unit members as Issithill will form a unit of Gorgonares with his champion Vilthiss and three others to come - a musician and two troopers - with artwork by Christophe Madura and sculpts by Stéphane Simon for all of them; well, as long as he can stand sculpting more scales, of course! The Khthones are really shaping up, and wait until you see what we have for you next month. You won't believe your eyes!
Carrowek of Carn Dhu, War-Drune on foot
...and so we come to the last of November's releases, the frankly sublime Carrowek of Carn Dhu, a warlord for your Ker-Ys warband with the emphasis on Ker: for Carrowek is a Kernowek, a Cornishman, as well as being a War-Drune. Yes, the Drunes - those rather single-minded worshippers of Kernunnos, the Horned God - have finally reared their enclosed and horned heads, so expect lots more in the future, as well as from Carrowek. Note that we said 'War-Drune on foot'... sculpted by Stéphane Simon on a break from those blimmin' scales and drawn by the terrifying Danny Cruz (who taught us all about muscles we didn't know humans had from a mere drawing) Carrowek is the harbinger of all things Drune, for next month there'll be more... much more, mwah hah ha ha!
All of the above stunning miniatures are available to pre-order right now from this very website (and many others these days), and they will be officially released on the 3rd of November.

Standing with Galhwch Lladd Llaw amongst the human Warriors of Gwynedd are yet more of Gwaelod, Dyndreigiau of fire and savagery of which Gwyddol is but one, revered kin of the dragons and wakened to anger through the devastation wrought by the barbarians across the seas. Gwyddol himself cares little for humans and their short, capricious lives but he can see the reasoning... more »

Alongside Órorqaan his Gultain and the Srónax led by that brutal Warrior, Qqolaan lends his barbarous strength and booming roar to the destroyer's armies in their inexorable march south and east from the icy lands around Toraigh, a strength born of an existence marked only by war. Throughout his battle-scarred years in Baalor's servitude - year upon year of shieldwall-br... more »

The will of Ophios is such that the Gorgonares are almost exclusively in thrall to his ultimate desire: the extinction of the Atalantes and their lands, a lust for vengeance upon their former masters that only brutalised slaves could sustain. Others of the Khthones may favour a search for lands they can call their own, or covet the wealth of kings and priests, or even wish... more »

Carn Dhu, the black fortress at the heart of Kernow's betrayal, skulks on an impregnable promontory of granite that dominates the coast and the lands around it and not least because of its lord, the brutal Carrowek, who serves Kernunnos as only the Kernowek can. A War-Drune of grotesque proportion so blessed by his god for his unblinking servitude and unthinking ferocity a... more »
